<\/figure>\n\n\n\nWerde ich jemals dazugeh\u00f6ren?<\/h1>\n\n\n\nKonformit\u00e4t in einer Gesellschaft, in der niemand so aussieht wie man selbst \u2013 ein Text von Megha Uchil<\/h1>\n\n\n\n
Ich bin eine stolze Australierin, die viele Talente hat, darunter das \u00dcberleben von 45\u00baC im Sommer, aber auch von -18\u00baC im Winter, die F\u00e4higkeit, keinen Sonnenbrand zu bekommen, und (manchmal) das \u00d6ffnen einer Flasche mit einem Feuerzeug, um nur einige zu nennen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aber wenn ich mich pers\u00f6nlich vorstelle, werde ich h\u00f6chstwahrscheinlich auf mein exotisches Aussehen reduziert.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Meine Hautfarbe habe ich n\u00e4mlich von meinem Vater geerbt. Eine R\u00fcstung, die mich vor der rauen indischen Sonne sch\u00fctzt. Ein sattes, glattes Schokoladenbraun, um das mich offenbar viele beneiden. Aber ich selbst habe nie gesehen, was andere an meiner Haut liebten. Ich war zu sehr damit besch\u00e4ftigt, mich anzupassen und mich von meiner indischen Identit\u00e4t zu distanzieren. Ja, ich habe indische Wurzeln und einen indischen Namen, aber ich habe nie in Indien gelebt, ich spreche keine der n\u00fctzlichen indischen Sprachen und ich bezeichne mich sicher nicht als Inderin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ich habe immer versucht, deutlich zu machen, dass ich eine waschechte Australierin bin, aber das ist schwierig, wenn mein Aussehen etwas anderes vermuten l\u00e4sst. Fr\u00fcher habe ich mich gesch\u00e4mt, Inderin zu sein<\/strong>, weil ich nie in die indischen Cliquen in Australien passte, weil ich das Gef\u00fchl hatte, nicht \u201eindisch genug\u201c zu sein.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Vor kurzem habe ich \u201eThe Good Immigrant\u201c gelesen, eine Sammlung von 21 Essays \u00fcber Schwarze, Asiat:innen und ethnische Minderheiten in Gro\u00dfbritannien. Abgesehen davon, dass sie eine Identit\u00e4tskrise ausl\u00f6ste, brachte sie mich zum Nachdenken. Warum bestimmt mein Aussehen so viel in meinem Leben?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Warum ist Wei\u00df der Standard? Warum werden unschuldige schwarze Menschen erschossen? Warum werden alle Arten von Muslim:innen am Flughafen zur Seite gerufen, um sie zu \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen? Warum sollen asiatische Kinder gut in Mathe sein? Aber vor allem: Warum ist die Welt so ungerecht?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Warum m\u00fcssen wir uns mit den Vorurteilen auseinandersetzen, die sich daraus ergeben, dass wir multikulturell sind, anstatt die gleichen Chancen zu haben wie eine wei\u00dfe Person?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Viele Menschen, die dies lesen, werden es nicht verstehen, aber f\u00fcr die wenigen, die es verstehen, tut es mir leid, dass wir die \u201eNach-dem-Aussehen-bevor-man-den-Mund-\u00f6ffnet\u201c-Karte bekommen haben. Wir werden immer die Einwanderer:innen sein, die Ausl\u00e4nder:innen, die Leute, denen man sagt, sie sollen in ihr Land zur\u00fcckgehen, obwohl sie hier geboren und aufgewachsen sind. Wir werden immer die Frage gestellt bekommen: \u201eWoher kommen Sie wirklich?\u201c Und die verwirrten Blicke, bis wir erkl\u00e4ren, dass unsere Vorfahren aus xyz stammen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Eine Sache, die ich immer noch lerne, ist: Egal, wie gut ich Deutsch spreche, wie viele Dirndl ich besitze oder wie viele Biere ich trinken kann, ich werde in einer Menschenmenge fast immer auffallen. Ich muss einfach die Tatsache akzeptieren, dass ich nicht dazu passe, und das ist v\u00f6llig in Ordnung. Nicht immer, aber in der Regel organisiere ich meine eigenen Workshops im Netzwerk, versuche mich an Brainstormings zu beteiligen, biete Ideen f\u00fcr Kommunikationsprobleme an, versuche bei der Organisation zu helfen, etc. Dadurch hatte ich die Gelegenheit, die meisten Leute in diesem Netzwerk kennen zu lernen. Juli in Nantes stattgefunden hat. Es kamen mehr als 800 Menschen aus ganz unterschiedlichen Orten der Welt nach Nantes, zum Beispiel aus Mali, aus Mexiko, aus dem Sudan, aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Belgien und viele mehr. Viele Organisationen waren vertreten, darunter auch einige Redakteur:innen des netzwerks medien.vielfalt!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Viele unterschiedliche Organisationen waren beim Transborder Camp anwesend. Eine davon war Top Manta, eine Selbstorganisation von Gefl\u00fcchteten aus Spanien. Sie sind in Barcelona aktiv. Sie betonen in ihrer Arbeit, dass Produkte legal sind und weltweit reisen d\u00fcrfen, aber Menschen nicht! Menschen werden illegalisiert!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Warum ist es wichtig f\u00fcr uns, am Transborder Camp teilzunehmen? Rouby aus der Redaktion Our Voice Freiburg, auch Teil vom netzwerk medien.vielfalt!, beantwortet diese Frage: \u201cDas Transborder Camp ist, meiner Meinung nach, ein sehr wichtiges Treffen, weil wir dort \u00fcber unsere gewohnten Treffen, den Treffen auf nationaler Ebene hinausgehen. Wir begegnen Menschen aus unterschiedlichen L\u00e4ndern, von unterschiedlichen Horizonten und teilen die Erfahrungen, die wir in unterschiedlichen L\u00e4ndern Europas machen. Menschen au\u00dferhalb Europas, zum Beispiel aus Afrika, teilen Erfahrungen mit uns, die wir uns hier gar nicht vorstellen k\u00f6nnen. Es ist ein Treffen, welches uns die M\u00f6glichkeit gibt, Realit\u00e4ten von denen wir zwar wissen, aber von denen wir nur vage Vorstellungen haben, zu entdecken. Hier haben wir zudem die M\u00f6glichkeit Menschen kennenzulernen, die zu spezifischen Themen arbeiten und die eine spezifische und reelle Erfahrung haben zur Situation von Migrant:innen, sei es im Sahara mit Alarmphone Sahara, sei es in L\u00e4ndern wie Nigeria, Mali, Marokko\u2026 Es ist eine tolle Chance f\u00fcr migrantische Selbstorganisationen oder Unterst\u00fctzungsgruppen \u00fcber ihre L\u00e4nder hinaus Netzwerken zu k\u00f6nnen. Man kann in Bezug auf verschiedene Themen, verschiedene K\u00e4mpfe oder auch geschlechtsspezifisch Netzwerken. Die Ausstellung geht zu dem der Frage nach, wie Berichterstattung, journalistische (Nicht-)Vielfalt und mediale Repr\u00e4sentation zusammenh\u00e4ngen und welche Ideen und Bedarfe es ganz praktisch gibt um an den bestehenden Verh\u00e4ltnissen etwas zu \u00e4ndern. Und die Ausstellung gew\u00e4hrt nat\u00fcrlich Einblicke in das netzwerk medien.vialfalt! und in die gemeinsamen Aktivit\u00e4ten und Erfahrungen als bundesweiter Zusammenschluss von Radio- und Medienschaffenden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Am Donnerstag den 5. Avant, j’avais honte d’\u00eatre indienne<\/strong> parce que je ne m’int\u00e9grais jamais dans les cliques indiennes d’Australie, parce que j’avais l’impression de ne pas \u00eatre „assez indienne“.<\/strong> Pourquoi devons-nous faire face aux pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s qui d\u00e9coulent du fait que nous sommes multiculturels au lieu d’avoir les m\u00eames chances qu’une personne blanche ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Beaucoup de gens qui lisent ceci ne comprendront pas, mais pour les quelques-uns qui comprennent, je suis d\u00e9sol\u00e9 que nous ayons re\u00e7u la carte „selon l’apparence avant d’ouvrir la bouche“. Nous serons toujours les immigr\u00e9s:es, les \u00e9trangers:es, les gens \u00e0 qui on dit de retourner dans leur pays alors qu’ils sont n\u00e9s et ont grandi ici. On nous posera toujours la question : „D’o\u00f9 venez-vous vraiment ?“ Et les regards perplexes jusqu’\u00e0 ce que nous expliquions que nos anc\u00eatres sont originaires de xyz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Une chose que je continue d’apprendre, c’est que peu importe \u00e0 quel point je parle allemand, combien de dirndl je poss\u00e8de ou combien de bi\u00e8res je peux boire, je me ferai presque toujours remarquer dans une foule. Je dois simplement accepter le fait que je ne suis pas \u00e0 ma place, et c’est tout \u00e0 fait acceptable. Pas toujours, mais en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, j’organise mes propres ateliers au sein du r\u00e9seau, j’essaie de participer \u00e0 des brainstormings, je propose des id\u00e9es pour r\u00e9soudre des probl\u00e8mes de communication, j’essaie d’aider \u00e0 l’organisation, etc. J’ai ainsi eu l’occasion de rencontrer la plupart des personnes de ce r\u00e9seau. Plus de 800 personnes sont venues \u00e0 Nantes d’endroits tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rents du monde, par exemple du Mali, du Mexique, du Soudan, d’Allemagne, de France, de Belgique et bien d’autres. De nombreuses organisations \u00e9taient repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es, dont quelques r\u00e9dacteurs du r\u00e9seau medien.vielfalt !<\/p>\n\n\n\n De nombreuses organisations diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sentes au camp Transborder. L’une d’entre elles \u00e9tait Top Manta, une auto-organisation de personnes ayant fui l’Espagne. Ils sont actifs \u00e0 Barcelone. Dans leur travail, ils soulignent que les produits sont l\u00e9gaux et peuvent voyager dans le monde entier, mais pas les personnes ! Les personnes sont rendues ill\u00e9gales !<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pourquoi est-il important pour nous de participer au Transborder Camp ? Rouby, de la r\u00e9daction Our Voice Freiburg, qui fait \u00e9galement partie du r\u00e9seau medien.vielfalt !, r\u00e9pond \u00e0 cette question : „Le Transborder Camp est, \u00e0 mon avis, une rencontre tr\u00e8s importante, car nous y allons au-del\u00e0 de nos rencontres habituelles, des rencontres au niveau national. Nous rencontrons des personnes de diff\u00e9rents pays, de diff\u00e9rents horizons et nous partageons les exp\u00e9riences que nous faisons dans diff\u00e9rents pays d’Europe. Des personnes ext\u00e9rieures \u00e0 l’Europe, venant par exemple d’Afrique, partagent avec nous des exp\u00e9riences que nous ne pouvons m\u00eame pas imaginer ici. C’est une rencontre qui nous donne la possibilit\u00e9 de d\u00e9couvrir des r\u00e9alit\u00e9s dont nous sommes conscients, mais dont nous n’avons qu’une vague id\u00e9e. Nous avons \u00e9galement la possibilit\u00e9 de rencontrer des personnes qui travaillent sur des th\u00e8mes sp\u00e9cifiques et qui ont une exp\u00e9rience sp\u00e9cifique et r\u00e9elle de la situation des migrants, que ce soit dans le Sahara avec Alarmphone Sahara, ou dans des pays comme le Nigeria, le Mali, le Maroc\u2026 C’est une grande opportunit\u00e9 pour les organisations autonomes ou les groupes de soutien des migrants de pouvoir travailler en r\u00e9seau au-del\u00e0 de leur pays. On peut se mettre en r\u00e9seau sur diff\u00e9rents th\u00e8mes, diff\u00e9rentes luttes ou encore en fonction du genre. L’exposition aborde \u00e9galement la question de la relation entre les reportages, la (non-)diversit\u00e9 journalistique et la repr\u00e9sentation m\u00e9diatique, ainsi que les id\u00e9es et les besoins pratiques pour changer les conditions existantes. Et l’exposition donne bien s\u00fbr un aper\u00e7u du r\u00e9seau medien.vialfalt ! et des activit\u00e9s et exp\u00e9riences communes en tant que regroupement national de professionnels de la radio et des m\u00e9dias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Le jeudi 5 septembre \u00e0 19 heures, l’exposition „nothing about us without us“ sera solennellement inaugur\u00e9e dans les locaux de Diversity Media \u00e0 Nuremberg. A cette occasion, une table ronde sera organis\u00e9e sur le th\u00e8me „\u00c9tait-ce raciste maintenant ?! Le r\u00f4le des m\u00e9dias dans la (re)production du racisme au quotidien“. An armor to protect me from the harsh Indian sun. A rich smooth chocolate brown which many apparently envy. But I myself never saw what others loved about my skin. I was too busy trying to fit in and distance myself from my Indian identity. Yes, I have Indian roots as well as an Indian name, but I\u2019ve never lived in India, I can\u2018t speak any useful Indian languages and I sure don\u2018t call myself an Indian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2018ve always tried to make it clear that I was a true blue Aussie, but it\u2018s difficult when my looks scream something else. I used to be ashamed to be Indian<\/strong> because I never fit in the Indian cliques in Australia due to the feeling that I wasn\u2018t \u201cIndian enough\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Recently I finished reading \u201cThe Good Immigrant\u201d, a collection of 21 essays about being black, Asian and minority ethnicity in Britain. Other than triggering an identity crisis, it got me thinking. Why do my looks define so much in my life?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Why is white the default? Why do innocent black people get shot? Why do all kinds of Muslims get called aside for background checks at the airport? Why are Asian kids supposed to be good at maths? But most of all; Why is the world so unfair?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Why do we have to deal with the prejudices of being multicultural instead of having the same chances as a Caucasian?<\/p>\n\n\n\n A lot of people reading this won\u2019t understand, but for the few that do, I\u2019m sorry that we\u2019ve gotten the \u201cjudged-by-looks-before-even-opening-mouth\u201d card. We will always be the immigrants, the foreigners, the people who are told to go back to their country even though they\u2019re born and raised here. We will always get the question: \u201cWhere do you really<\/em> come from?\u201d And the confused stares until we explain that our ancestors come from xyz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One thing I\u2019m still learning is: no matter how well I speak German, or how many dirndls I own or beers I can drink, I will almost always stand out in a crowd. I just have to accept the fact that I won\u2019t fit in and that is absolutely fine. More than 800 people came to Nantes from very different places in the world, for example from Mali, from Mexico, from Sudan, from Germany, France, Belgium and many more. Many organisations were represented, including some editors of the medien.vielfalt network!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Many different organisations were present at the Transborder Camp. One of them was Top Manta, a self-organisation of refugees from Spain. They are active in Barcelona. In their work they emphasise that products are legal and allowed to travel worldwide, but people are not! People are made illegal!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Why is it important for us to participate in the Transborder Camp? Rouby from the editorial office Our Voice Freiburg, also part of netzwerk medien.vielfalt! answers this question: „The Transborder Camp is, in my opinion, a very important meeting, because there we go beyond our usual meetings, the meetings on a national level. We meet people from different countries, from different horizons and share the experiences we have in different countries in Europe. People from outside Europe, for example from Africa, share experiences with us that we cannot even imagine here. It is a meeting that gives us the opportunity to discover realities that we know about, but of which we have only vague ideas. It is also a chance to meet people who work on specific issues and who have a specific and real experience of the situation of migrants, be it in Sahara with Alarmphone Sahara, be it in countries like Nigeria, Mali, Morocco\u2026 It is a great chance for migrant self-organisations or support groups to network beyond their countries. You can network on different issues, different struggles or even gender specific. <\/strong>Ich bin der lokale Koordinator von Newcomer News. Wir sind das interkulturelle Redaktionsteam des Freien Radios W\u00fcste Welle in T\u00fcbingen (Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg), das Teil des netzwerks medien.vielfalt! ist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Ich sehe dieses Netzwerk von Menschen aus verschiedenen Kulturen als ein gro\u00dfes Reichtum und w\u00fcnsche mir, dass es sich weiter entwickelt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Das beliebteste Thema in diesem Jahr ist die Zukunft des Netzwerks! Dabei versuchen wir, innerhalb des Netzwerks einen Medienverband von Menschen mit Migrationsgeschichte zu gr\u00fcnden. Ich denke, das ist wichtig und es ist sinnvoll, wenn wir einen \u201eMigrant Media Verein\u201c haben, aber auf der anderen Seite sollte diese Idee entwickelt und in ein System umgewandelt werden, an dem auch andere gute Leute im Netzwerk teilnehmen k\u00f6nnen. Wenn es nur Newcomer gibt, dann ist es nicht genug bunte Stimmen! Das Gegenteil ist auch nicht richtig. Wir k\u00f6nnen mehr in einer Weise denken, die ein interkulturelles Zusammenleben erm\u00f6glicht. En effet, j’ai h\u00e9rit\u00e9 ma couleur de peau de mon p\u00e8re. Une armure qui me prot\u00e8ge de la rudesse du soleil indien. Un brun chocolat riche et lisse que beaucoup semblent m’envier. Mais moi-m\u00eame, je n’ai jamais vu ce que les autres aimaient dans ma peau. J’\u00e9tais trop occup\u00e9e \u00e0 m’adapter et \u00e0 me distancer de mon identit\u00e9 indienne. Oui, j’ai des racines indiennes et un nom indien, mais je n’ai jamais v\u00e9cu en Inde, je ne parle aucune des langues indiennes utiles et je ne me consid\u00e8re certainement pas comme une Indienne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
J’ai r\u00e9cemment lu „The Good Immigrant“, un recueil de 21 essais sur les Noirs, les Asiatiques et les minorit\u00e9s ethniques en Grande-Bretagne. Outre le fait qu’elle a d\u00e9clench\u00e9 une crise d’identit\u00e9, elle m’a fait r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir. Pourquoi mon apparence d\u00e9termine-t-elle tant de choses dans ma vie ?
Pourquoi le blanc est-il la norme ? Pourquoi des personnes noires innocentes sont-elles abattues ? Pourquoi tous les types de musulmans sont-ils mis de c\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00e0 l’a\u00e9roport pour \u00eatre contr\u00f4l\u00e9s ? Pourquoi les enfants asiatiques sont-ils cens\u00e9s \u00eatre bons en math\u00e9matiques ? Je suis le coordinateur local de Newcomer News. Nous sommes l’\u00e9quipe r\u00e9dactionnelle interculturelle de la radio libre W\u00fcste Welle \u00e0 T\u00fcbingen (Bade-Wurtemberg), qui fait partie du r\u00e9seau medien.vielfalt !<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Je consid\u00e8re ce r\u00e9seau de personnes issues de diff\u00e9rentes cultures comme une grande richesse et je souhaite qu’il continue \u00e0 se d\u00e9velopper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Le th\u00e8me le plus populaire cette ann\u00e9e est l’avenir du r\u00e9seau ! A cet \u00e9gard, nous essayons de cr\u00e9er au sein du r\u00e9seau une association m\u00e9diatique de personnes issues de l’immigration. Je pense que c’est important et que cela a du sens d’avoir une „association de m\u00e9dias migrants“, mais d’un autre c\u00f4t\u00e9, cette id\u00e9e devrait \u00eatre d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e et transform\u00e9e en un syst\u00e8me auquel d’autres bonnes personnes du r\u00e9seau pourraient participer. S’il n’y a que des nouveaux venus, il n’y a pas assez de voix color\u00e9es ! Le contraire n’est pas vrai non plus. Nous pouvons penser davantage d’une mani\u00e8re qui permette une cohabitation interculturelle. Je pense qu’il n’est pas facile de capter cette belle \u00e9nergie, cette unit\u00e9 est pr\u00e9cieuse et cette valeur devrait \u00eatre prot\u00e9g\u00e9e et d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e avec beaucoup de soin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\nPortrait : la r\u00e9daction migrante SpeakOutLoud !<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>I am the local coordinator of Newcomer News. We are the intercultural editorial team of the free radio station W\u00fcste Welle in T\u00fcbingen (Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg), which is part of the netzwerk medien.vielfalt!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>I see this network of people from different cultures as a great wealth and I would like to see it develop further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>The most popular topic this year is the future of the network! We are trying to create a media association of people with migration history within the network. I think this is important and it makes sense for us to have a „Migrant Media Association“, but on the other hand, this idea should be developed and turned into a system where other good people in the network can participate. If there are only newcomers, then there are not enough colourful voices! The opposite is not right either. We can think more in a way that allows intercultural coexistence.
